Another famous Palladian style house that was brought back to its former glory, Bellinter House is a large classic country house of Georgian heritage recently renovated by Powderly Construction and opened as a luxury spa hotel. This major restoration project involved completely rebuilding the “Ruin”, one of the main wings of the house, and turning it into an award winning spa and wellness centre for the now famous hotel.
This large Palladian house is one of the finest examples anywhere in Ireland. This was an extensive restoration project involving repairs to the roofs of all outbuildings. All new heating, plumbing and electrical installed. Newly constructed lead valleys and slates. Extensive internal and external plasterwork, as well as all new joinery. 2002 winner of the An Taisce award for best restoration of a private dwelling.
Another well known land mark building, the restoration of Ballinlough Castle involved all roof works, including replacement of several pitched roofs and lead valleys, underpinning of the south east wing due to foundation erosion, as well as the removal and restoration of all internal and external joinery. The north tower was made structurally safe and then replastered in lime. A true master piece brought back to life.
